Consultancy and communications for culture, arts and media

St James Arts is a public relations consultancy directed by Nigel Rubenstein, a communications professional with nearly two decades of experience across the arts and culture sectors. Based in London, Nigel advises institutions, galleries, cultural organisations and creative entrepreneurs on strategic communications, press relations and campaign development. He works collaboratively with a trusted network of consultants and editors across the UK, Europe, and MENA region to deliver intelligent, impactful campaigns tailored to each client’s ambitions and context.

Nigel brings a strong editorial instinct and a deep understanding of the international media landscape to every project, combined with hands-on experience in crafting narratives, managing press moments, producing collateral, and overseeing international press trips. He has worked extensively on campaigns involving museum exhibitions, biennials, public art installations, contemporary galleries, design fairs and philanthropic foundations.

Most recently, he has been working with The Museum of Art and History Geneva (MAH), Zeyrek Çinili Hamam, Galerist, Alserkal Initiatives, Gazelli Art and Albion Fields.

Over the past few years, he has consulted for Frieze, Deutsche Bank, Stephen Friedman Gallery, DAU, Ithra, Misk Art Institute, and Saadiyet Cultural District.

Prior to launching his own consultancy, he was a director at Scott & Co and Flint Culture for clients including Frieze, Christie’s, Hastings Contemporary, Dubai Design Week, Art Jameel, The Sakip Sabanci Museum and Borusan Contemporary.
